"You know what that means?"," says Littman. "It's like trading in the coolest, most original version of a car for an even cooler, more expensive version. We don't feel that we're making it to the bitter end, and we're still early in development, and we're only done with the first 10 percent of the game. So it's fruitless of us to think we're going to make Company of Heroes 3 a drastic departure from Company of Heroes 2. We want it to be Company of Heroes 3."
"I think it's more about taking the lessons learned from Company of Heroes 2 and applying them to Company of Heroes 3," says Stolzen. "We're not going to be aggressive about making it bigger and beefier. People always say that about our game, that it doesn't look like it's as big as 40K because it's smaller and more intimate. But still, it's got more stuff in it than they're used to."
"But also, just the fact that you're playing this game, and not every game, is what you like and want to see more often. So the whole joy of it is that, if you decide that what you're seeing on a Saturday afternoon is what you like, if you decide you like the campaign mechanic, and you decide you like the multiplayer mode - and you never played the first Company of Heroes, then you've got both, essentially."
"Having multiplayer to go back to, to have the multiplayer to play with your family that you already enjoyed, maybe you've got a friend who wants to try the campaign mode, because you already have both of those in your head, you've got a family and all of your friends, it makes more sense that way. It's more likely you're going to spend your time playing that because you already know you like it," says Stolzen. "And then you actually get to play this game, that's definitely something that's designed to be a more accessible entry point for more people.
