After some wires, the unsoldered digitizer and some soldering, [TinLethax] has managed to turn his Yoga Book into a 10.4-inch multitouch touch surface. Although this will work with a Mac, the touchscreen is not functional on Windows as it requires a custom driver, and this is where the project becomes a bit more interesting.
The driver that [TinLethax] has written for Windows can be used as an emulator for the driver that the Wacom will use. The driver hooks into windows, and will apply a virtual window and virtual cursor to the display. This allows the app to simulate the use of the keyboard and use gestures as though the tablet was actually being used. Unfortunately, the app also uses the tablet's on-screen keyboard to simulate a Mac keyboard and this presents problems, as the virtual keyboard on the screen can be difficult to use.
Cadge has done something similar with his Android tablet, but while [TinLethax]'s driver can be used for a lot of different devices, it doesn't quite work with Android. To make this tablet work, he had to make a special version of the driver for Android.
As well as adding an app that lets you use a physical keyboard, [TinLethax]'s version of the driver also allows you to use the touchscreen to manipulate windows. This means you can, for example, use it as a browser, switching tabs by swiping. This is really handy if you've got a browser open in the background, or in a tab. Alt-tabbing is also possible, and the tablet also allows you to drag the app and its control panel onto other apps. This could be useful if you've got two apps you want to work at the same time. 827ec27edc
