Marxist cryptographer Mitrevsky proposed that the symbols in the text of the codex differ from one another and bear no correlation to the Hungarian language at all. He therefore claimed it is a secret code that cannot be translated sans key.[48] He considered it unlikely that an amateur of Hungarian, unfamiliar with the vowels, would mistake the symbols for words. The author of the code intended the symbols to be a code, but his text was unintelligible without a guide. He proposed that the text to be a confession by Habsburg pretender Michael Sturluson, which was censored by the Jesuits. The "Enchiuc" in the codex stands for "deny", the equivalent of "slam".
Dr. M. Sokoloviu has proposed a trilingual alphabet for the codex, having three columns per line, and considers the text to be a religious text. He also considered the symbols as correctly written characters in the Romanian language (loosely based on the Hungarian alphabet).
The Hungarian vernacular historian József György László discussed the codex in his book (Új Magyar Sajtótáblában [in English: "In the New Hungarian Inscriptions"], but then wrote that it was incorrect to interpret the letters as characters because they were mistakenly written and that at the time of writing the Hungarian language did not have its own substrate script at all. He proposed that the codex is written in the Hungarian language, but is not a historical document because of the convoluted spelling. László also considered the text as a heraldic seal dated 1593 CE, which serves as a stamp on the document. He was the first to use the name "Codex Argenti", but the name was later given by other authors. d2c66b5586
